UPPER
One of SKECHERS trade marks are the smooth upper. In most of their shoes you can go sock less, the same with the GoRun Ride2. On the second edition you see a smooth upper with a soft heel cup. The second edition has a more structure upper with more overlays and a tighter mesh then the first edition. his gives you a more secure and locked down feeling. The front of the shoe has similar 4 panel mesh as GoRun 2 which allows your toes to spread free without getting a sloppy feeling. With all the overlays and the tighter mesh the GoRun Ride 2 runs on the warmer side.
OUT SOLE/Mid Sole
The look of the sole likes identically with the first edition but their is one change. SKECHERS has removed 2mm from the mid section of the sole, to decrease the "bump". The GoRun Ride2 runs closer to the ground and have a much more improved road feel. The Resalyte mid sole compound continues to impressed on me. With over 100 miles on the shoe, the Resalyte shows no signs of breaking down. The Resalyte respond very well to the pace you pick for the day. One issues I had with the first edition was the stone/pebble pick up. As this issue is not addressed on the second edition it continues to be a problem. I would like to see SKECHERS designers taking the same route as the did with the GoRun 2 here to address this matter. Also some of the Pods in the fore foot high traffic area show more wear and tear then other pods.
Over All
The second edition of GoRun Ride has a much improved upper with more overlays that keeps your feet secured. The upper is smooth s and you can go sock less during your hot summer runs without any issues. The upper runs on the warmer side because of all the new overlays. With 2mm less on the out sole the GoRun Ride2 runs closer to the ground for a nicer road feel. With the Resalyte Skechers has a great mid sole compound that respond well to the pace you pick for the day. Personally I like the GoRun Ride 2 best the day after a hard workout or on a long run. GoRun Ride2 gives my legs a break after hard runs or during my long runs with the well cushioned and flexible ride they offer.

I'm wearing GoRun Ride and this new GoRun Ride 2 seems like another good choice for me. My GoRun Ride perform well and managed to achieve good timing in my recent race. It brought me to the be the top 10 in recent Borneo International Marathon 2013.
ReplyDeleteGreat result Zheng. GoRun Speed is another rewally fast shoe for races. Have you tried it?
DeleteI just got a pair of the GOrun Ride 2 Nite Owl version for wear testing from Skechers Malaysia this morning and can't wait to put them on for a run soon. Based on your review, it seems to carry on from the success of the GOrun Ride.
ReplyDeleteYes its the same shoe, just added Nite Owl technology. Let me know how they work out for you Nick!
