Taper coming up...
After some injury issues, tight inner thigh and ITB things are going as planned. Although Ive to say I start to worry as I missed some mileage during important weeks. I got a good week in last week at Cape Cod. Always nice to go up there to log some mileage during vacation. Most of the runs was logged at Cape Cod bike trail, nice paved old rail beds. During our week on Cape I got 83 miles in with lot of good quality.

Boston Marathon 2014
Here we go again.....Of course I get nervous every year when it get close to sign up for Boston marathon. A specially this year as every runner on mother earth wants to run Boston 2014! I was 16 minutes under my BQ time of 3:15 for my age category and I shouldn't have to worry.....but as said 2014 is going to be special. So on the 11th I could sign up and pulled the trigger 10am sharp. Two hours later I got the acceptance email from B.A.A, I'm in!!!!
"Dear Stefan Albinsson,
This is to notify you that your entry into the 118th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21, 2014 has been accepted, provided that the information you submitted is accurate.
A Confirmation of Acceptance card will be mailed to you via US Postal Service mail in October."
I'm in the middle of my Steamtown Marathon training and i have to admit its a bit hard to sign up for the next marathon before you have finished the one you re training for. In the middle of the peak you re mentally tired and for me its hard to focus on a race next April. But Boston marathon is my favorite race all time and Im always stoked and thrilled to get the opportunity to sign up. As I see it, my next big race Steamtown its a part of the plan for a perfect Boston Marathon.
Again I hope to be a part of the Skechers Performance Division team in 2014 and Boston Marathon.

Boston Sign up and ITB
Its September 9th and the Boston registration open up today, of course for the runners who are really fast, BQ -20.....My day will be on Wednesday as my time is BQ-16...
From BAA.org
"Registration will occur on a “rolling admission” schedule, beginning with the fastest qualifiers. On Monday, September 9, eligible runners who have met the qualifying standard for their age and gender by 20 minutes or more may register. On Wednesday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. ET, if space remains, registration will open for those who have met their qualifying standard by 10 minutes or more. If space remains, registration will open on Friday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. ET for those who have met their qualifying standard by five minutes or more. Registration will close on Saturday, September 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET."
Again its hard to say how fast Boston 2014 will sell out. Experienced Boston runners thinks that 8000-10 000 will sign up today Monday.
The latest two weeks had been kind of miserable for me. After a hot hilly 16 miler two weeks ago, where I got kind of dehydrated. My inner thigh and back cramped up. It was unrunable and I took 4 days off from running. I have to say I was exhausted and I think running n all this humid hot weather finally got to me. I got lazy during the 4 days off and was stupid and started up again with long run the second day back....I asked for and my ITB was back, full force! Always when I take time off and start again i tends to come back. Its been good lately but I should have learned my lesson from the past. So another couple of days off, with foam rolling, XT and stretching + Ibuprofen did the trick. Tried running yesterday and had no issues....
So what works for me and my ITB:
If I need to stop running....foam rolling, stretching and Ibuprofen
If no issues, just keep running, stretch the ITB and foam roll. But the key for my ITB is really the plank. I have been slacking and not been doing it as frequently as I should.....
With 2 weeks of low mileage I start to worry about Steamtown. I need to get some good quality in now, but not being stupid and rush into it.....I definitely have a good base, and with some good weeks I should be fine! #GLlikeNeverBefore
